Biography
Dr. Jimmy Efird holds a joint appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health and as Epidemiologist/Chief Statistician in the Center for Health Disparities, Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University (ECU). He also serves as Director of Epidemiology and Outcomes Research for the ECU Heart Institute and is an Adjunct Associate Profession in the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences. He has over 150 publications in scientific journals and technical proceedings. Dr. Efird’s research interests include plant-based prevention of diabetes and heart disease and the use of complementary therapies for the treatment of chronic diseases.
